The B:Club, Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre’s dedicated kids club, buzzes back into the centre on Tuesday 26th May. And this time the cuddly bee will be joined by some exciting friends to help children get fit and improve their confidence and concentration while having loads of fun!
YogaBugs, the leading children’s yoga organisation, will be on hand to take children on an exciting adventure using traditional yoga postures and breathing techniques. The FREE yoga workshops, which will take place at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre between 11am – 3pm, will be packed full with fun songs and stories that will get children using their imagination, help improve their flexibility and teach them to breathe correctly.
Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre launched the B:Club in April with the aim of providing local children with FREE, fun workshops where they can learn about the environment and community around them.
YogaBugs classes contribute to the active ‘60 minutes a day’ the Department of Health recommend all children have as part of their Change4Life campaign. Yoga provides a number of physical benefits for children including strengthening core muscles, maintaining joint mobility, developing good posture, supporting the immune, respiratory, circulatory and digestive systems and maintaining natural flexibility.
In addition, Yoga also promotes a number of mental and emotional benefits for children including improving concentration and self-confidence, promoting healthy sleeping patterns and releasing the day to day anxieties such as separation issues, bullying, lethargy and feelings of negativity.
Lee Greenwood, Centre Manager at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre said, “We’re really looking forward to the next B:Club event. A lot of children today don’t get as much exercise as they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This can not only have negative effects on their immediate health but can also lead to serious problems in the future. The YogaBug classes provided them with a chance to get fit and healthy while having fun with their friends. Its set to be a great day for everyone involved!”
